Questions & Answers
Everything you need to know before starting your one-of-a-kind piece at our York, PA studio.
Most custom pieces take about 4–8 weeks from your initial consultation to the finished piece, depending on design complexity and materials. Your timeline moves through four stages: consultation, design development with CAD rendering, a resin sample, and production. We’ll give you a clear estimate during your consultation.
Yes. The initial consultation is complimentary and runs about an hour. We’ll explore your style and inspirations, review gemstones and materials, and identify any existing pieces you’d like to incorporate or redesign. When samples are available, you’re welcome to try them on to refine direction and fit.
Once you move into the design development phase, a non-refundable $150 deposit is required. It covers your preliminary CAD rendering and design estimate, and it is fully applied toward your completed design. One round of revisions is included at no additional charge; further modifications are $50 each.
CAD (computer-aided design) is a detailed 3D digital model of your piece. It lets you see your design from every angle and approve the look before anything is produced. Your CAD rendering is created during the design development phase and comes with a design estimate.
A resin sample is a physical model of your design that you can hold and try on before final production. It lets you evaluate scale, proportion, and design details in real life. One resin sample is complimentary; additional samples are available at $75 each.
Once your design is finalized, a 50% deposit is required to begin production. From there your piece is cast, tumbled and finished, quality-checked, stone-set, given a final polish, and put through a final quality inspection before it’s ready for you.
Absolutely. Repurposing meaningful gemstones or metals into a new design is one of our favorite services. Bring your pieces to your consultation and we’ll discuss how to incorporate or redesign them into something you’ll wear and treasure.
